![]() ![]() I will be putting that in because no one can deal with it unless they counterspell it. The Blasphemous Act would have made my draw against Wolf Run Bant into a win both games 2 and 3. That is what they are there for after you have a thragtusk out after all. I can deal with a 2 for 1 killing a mana dork. The Smiters only helped against 1 deck, and in every other matchup I would have rather had Reckoners. I went to a ptq yesterday and I have some things to say about certain cards. They don't run counterspells, so they've got no way to deal with it. Every single Junk Reanimator player I've played against has Acidic Slimes in their sideboard, and if you're playing White, they will assume you're going to bring in Rest in Peace. ![]() I also recommend against running Graffdiggers and Rest in Peace for your graveyard hate. ![]() Exile is the absolute best way to deal with Angel of Serenity. You do not want to kill an Angel of Serenity if at all possible, because they'll just drop another one, and then pull the one you killed out of the graveyard, and you end up in a never ending cycle of having to deal with Angels. Reanimator, you're going to want Selesnya Charm for Angel of Serenity. You could also go the route of running Terminus, though that has the potential to hurt you as well. Against aggro, hardcasting a Bonfire for 2 is actually not that bad, it'll get rid of most of the aggro creatures, and miracling one on turn 4 or 5 will pretty much clear the board in your favor. Having the Ramp that you do available, it's not hard to get it to Overload cost in time to deal with an aggro deck, and it's saved my butt more times than I can count. She can't be touched by Azorius Charm, she eats Resto Angels, and she forces the opposing player to Wrath the board as soon as possible, which will make it alot safer for you to start dropping your huntmasters and thragtusks.Īs for dealing with aggro decks, I'm a big fan of Mizzium Mortars. ![]() She'll shut down Olivia entirely if she's the only thing on your side of the board. Short of Bonfire, they've pretty much got no way of interacting with her, and she's a pretty good clock. She pretty much tells Jund to go f itself. I'm also a big fan of Sigarda in the sideboard. If you were running Bonfire, then I could see making an argument for running Reverb, as copying a Miracle'd Bonfire would pretty much be game over right there. What are you going to take out in order to bring the Reverberates in? All of your likely targets are a better card to cast than copying any of the Instants or Sorceries you're mainboarding (unless your plan was to Reverberate a Blasphemous Act with a Reckoner on the board, and I think that setup is way too difficult to achieve reliably). And there's not much value in copying Searing Spear or Cloudshift. Reverberating a Farseek is kind of useless, since early game is where Farseek matters, and you won't have the mana to cast both. Their casting cost is awkward, and you don't really have that many targets for it. Since you're playing Resto Angels and Cloudshifts, the slime is incredibly abuseable and can be used to attack your opponents land base if necessary. They're great for getting rid of pesky opposing enchantments like Assemble the Legion, as well as pesky opposing utility lands (Wolf Run, Township, Drownyard, etc). I sincerely recommend 2 Acidic Slimes in the sideboard. Generating 3/3's and getting draw power tends to outweigh the tutor effect. I find big Garruk is almost always better. I'm also not a fan of Garruk Relentless for this deck. You also don't need a Cavern to get him out.ĭo that, and there's no longer any point in keeping Blasphemous Act in the sideboard. They'll trade with a Reckoner straight up and avoid his two-for-one (unless your opponent is dumb and decides it'd be better to sacrifice his Reckoner and leave a 4/4 body on the board), and he also tells Liliana of the Veil to go F herself. Lose the Reckoners maindeck and replace them with Loxodon Smiters. ![]()
